BPY uses a unique and simple approach to teaching yoga that allows you to tap into your best resource, you! Too often yoga teachers are overly focused on memorizing a sequence that they miss out on what is happening in the moment. Barefoot Power Yoga teaches a simple and adaptable arc that allows teachers flexibility, while staying tuned in to their students. Teaching yoga is not a performance, but an opportunity to connect with others in a safe and open environment.
Students will gain an overall knowledge of basic anatomy for both yin and yang postures through one 6-hour lecture and several smaller anatomy clinics. In each clinic, students will go over anatomy as it relates to yoga; joint articulation, muscle action, energy lines, modifications, variations and contraindications. Furthermore, teacher trainees will learn how best to connect and assist their students by honing their ability to stay present. Sometimes the best assist is simply holding space for students and allowing them to be in the moment.
Teacher trainees will receive live coaching and feedback through group and one on one practice teach sessions. These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to practice BPY principles, but also an opportunity for personal growth and transformation. Simply put, teachers learn to become confident and powerful teachers by learning how to be themselves.
Throughout training students are expected to attend workshops on a variety of topics such as arm balances, chakras, kundalini, restorative yoga, meditation and much more! As part of training, students will learn how to design, promote and lead their very own workshop to the 360 community.
Once teacher trainers are ready, they will have the opportunity to implement and practice their teaching skills to live classes at 360 Yoga.
Students will learn the history and philosophy of yoga through ancient texts, pranayama and meditation in addition to BPY principals such as public speaking, authentic voice, and mindfulness.

SCHEDULE (MEET ONE WEEKEND FOR 7 MONTHS)
Saturdays 9:30am – 6:30pm
Sundays 9:30am – 6pm
$250.00 non-refundable deposit by September 2nd to secure your spot in program.

RYT 200 HOUR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS
Attend weekend sessions (yoga classes, lectures, anatomy clinics, and practice teach sessions)
Teach 3 community classes or partner taught classes
Observe 3 studio classes and written feedback
3 hands-on assists
Submit all work and hours (maximum of 9 missed hours)
Complete student taught workshop and final exam
30 non-contact hours (reading, journaling, in-house or outside workshops, yoga classes, mentoring, etc.)
